Brown Sugar Cookies

A sweet treat to try with the family.

You will need:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2-1 c. raisins
1/2-1 c. nuts, chopped

Blend sugar, shortening, egg, nutmeg, and salt together in a large bowl. Stir, and add flour, soda, baking powder, and sour cream. Add raisins and nuts. Take a spoonful and place onto greased sheet of baking paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 325 degrees. Enjoy.

Beef Stew

A delicious recipe to try at home.

1 lb beef
6 carrots
2 potatoes
5 celery stalks
1 cup of peas
1 cup of beans
1 cup of corn
10 tomatoes
salt
pepper
5 cloves garlic, minced
5 cups water

Cut vegetables into pieces of preferred sizes. Add them into hot pot of boiling water along with seasoning. Stir in meat, slowly reduce heat. This dish will take about an hour to cook. Enjoy.
